This is legal information, not legal advice
Everything published on this site describes Florida law in general terms. It is not advice about your situation, and it cannot be — advice requires knowing the facts of your case, which a web page does not.
The difference is practical, not academic. Two people with what sounds like the same charge can have opposite outcomes because of a prior case, a probation violation, or how a plea was entered fifteen years ago.
Eligibility results are a screening, not a determination
Our screening tool applies rules derived from the Florida Statutes to the answers you provide. It is useful, and it will frequently tell you something you did not know. It is not a determination of eligibility.
- FDLE decides whether to issue a Certificate of Eligibility.
- A judge decides whether to grant a petition, and may deny one even where you are statutorily eligible.
- Our result is only as good as your answers. Old cases are frequently not what people remember.
When we become your lawyers — and when we do not
Browsing this site, running the screening, creating an account, or buying the self-prepared tier does not create an attorney-client relationship.
We become your lawyers only when you engage the attorney-reviewed service and a written engagement agreement is signed. Until that happens, what you send us is not privileged.
Florida only
The relief described on this site exists under Florida law and clears Florida records. It does not reach records held by another state, by a federal agency, or by a foreign government. If you were arrested outside Florida, you need relief under that jurisdiction’s law.
The law changes
Statutes are amended, rules are revised, and courts interpret both. Content here reflects our reading of the law as of its last review date, and may not reflect the most recent developments. Citations should be confirmed against current statute text before being relied on.
No guarantee of outcome
No lawyer can guarantee a result, and any service promising one should be treated with suspicion. Past outcomes do not predict future ones.
